Photographer
Melbourne, Australia
I think I have always seen things a little differently, and my photography is the best tangible evidence of this.
Light was what attracted me to photography in the first place, the beauty and variance of natural light and how it makes an ordinary subject or scene seem, momentarily, something else entirely. I have chosen to follow this ethos, whether it be with landscapes, street, animal, sports, candid people or even abstract photography, taking a local scene in Williamstown or one many miles away. If calling myself a "light chaser" didn't sound quite so pretentious that might just be what I would call myself here, but rather I will go with simply calling myself a lover of light, and its ability to transform and highlight the already unique as well as the everyday.
Photographs can be produced if the scene has not seen, and accurately translating the feeling behind an image as well as the physical components displayed gives a level of satisfaction I was never able to achieve in my corporate career! The happiest I am, however, is when my images evoke a reaction in others, whether big or small. Post processing is kept to a minimum, as my aim is to always produce an image that represented the reality of what I was lucky enough to witness.
I have studied photography at Melbourne's Photographic Studies College and RMIT, have exhibited and sold work in Far North QLD, and have been recognised and awarded in national and international competitions. I am of course still learning and practising this art of photography whenever I am able to.
This website is designed to show just a sample of my work, across the main subject areas I seem more and more drawn to. All images here are available as prints, and many also as cotton tote bags and greeting cards. Many others are available too, so please contact me if you would like to talk about any shown works, or others that might exist in the background!
Thank you for your interest in my photography, this really does provide the inspiration to keep creating.
