Port Douglas
Living in this beautiful tropical town since 2021 has allowed me to truly get to know it, both the traditional ‘tourist side’ of the town, as well as the pure joys that only a local (can I call myself that yet?) can know. Moving from Melbourne, where we know four seasons can sometimes happen in one day, I was sceptical about the diversity of the weather, the light, and the seasons that I would find up here. And whilst yes, it is completely different to the south, and sometimes more subtle in its changes, there is far more going on here than just a Wet and then a Dry Season, and the change in light over the year is truly spectacular.
